After much controversy, the SRC election of the Ghana Institute of Journalism
(GIJ), has been held and Joseph Agbezuke has emerged winner.
He won with 424 votes with his closest opponent, Fauzu Masawudu, getting 377 votes.
The only female aspirant among the crop, Louisa Kwakye got 348 votes.
Joseph's victory was heralded by much controversy after the election, which was originally expected to take place from April 14, was rescheduled because of allegations of election malfeasance.
After the rescheduling, a final year student of the institute on Friday, April 28, was arrested after he was reportedly caught with multiple ballot papers that already had thumbprints.
